Conference Fashion and Territory: new alliances for rural development

Fecha: 03 Octubre 2025

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 16:00 to 20:00, the conference "Fashion and territory: new alliances for rural development" took place at Espacio Ephimera Larra (C/ Larra 14, Madrid), co-organized by OIKOS together with Legados and the Fundación Adolfo Domínguez.

At 16:20, Panel 1: “The origin – Natural resources and primary sector” was held, in which producers and cooperatives presented experiences in the use of domestic raw materials —such as wool, cotton, linen or hemp— and debated the challenges and opportunities to strengthen the sector's productive base.

At 17:20, Panel 2: “Transformation – Industry, know-how and scalability” took place, focused on industrial processes (spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing) and the technical innovations required to scale sustainable textile production in Spain without losing quality or tradition.

After a short break, at 18:35, Panel 3: “The visible link – Brands facing the origin challenge” was held, where designers and sustainability managers analyzed how to integrate fibers grown in Spain into their collections, outlining barriers regarding cost, traceability and design.

The event concluded at 19:35 with the institutional closing and continued at 20:00 with a networking session accompanied by Galo Celta products.

Fashion is often in the spotlight when we talk about sustainability. That is why at OIKOS we have partnered with the Fundación Adolfo Domínguez and Legados to sit down and discuss how fashion can become an engine for rural development.
