On February 6, the presentation of the study “Environmentalisms in Competition: Convergences and divergences in Spaniards' attitudes toward climate change” took place via a webinar organized by OIKOS.
The study examines with a pioneering and unprecedented survey approach in Spain the premise of whether there is room in Spain for anambitious center-right environmentalism similar to the one that already exists in other developed countries in our region.
The study advocates for moving past the "skepticism vs commitment" paradigm regarding the fight against climate change. The data reveal that concern about climate change is ideologically cross-cutting among all voters, and denialism is moreover marginal, including among those furthest to the right of the political spectrum.
