Europe is undergoing a growing water crisis, driven by more frequent droughts, poor infrastructure, and inefficient management of the resource. Traditionally wet countries like Belgium or Germany are also experiencing water stress. Agriculture, energy, and green industries are at risk from aquifer overexploitation and massive losses of drinking water. Despite its severity, public policy and investment are not responding with the required urgency. The article warns that without structural action, the economic and environmental cost will be exponentially higher.
