Less state pact and more rural development and market

The article defends that fighting wildfires is not about more solemn pacts, but about caring for the countryside and bringing life back to rural areas. It proposes less bureaucracy to clean forests, more prevention with grazing, controlled burns, and agroforestry mosaics, and stable crews working year-round. It also suggests taking advantage of biomass and timber as a rural economic engine, with public procurement and heat networks that create jobs. Natura 2000, well managed, can be an ally. In short, investing in prevention is more effective and cheaper than spending later on helicopters and firefighting.
Spain has suffered the worst summer in its history regarding wildfires. The country needs less grandiloquence and more management: stopping fires with rural development, market, and fewer obstacles.
